How your scope is set
The manuscript length, current condition, publication history, intended reader, desired timeline, and author’s goals all affect the work. Before paid work begins, you will receive a written scope explaining the service, price, timeline, materials required, and deliverables. Starting prices help you decide whether private consulting fits your budget before making an inquiry.
What is handled separately
Editing, proofreading, illustration, cover design, interior layout, formatting, printing preparation, and marketing execution are not included unless specifically stated in writing. When needed, Black Dot Publishing may help identify independent professionals. Each professional provides a separate estimate and agreement, and the author decides whom to hire.
