Refund Policy

Akoma Coffee & Books Refund Policy

This policy explains how returns and refunds are handled for eligible purchases, event tickets, contributions and online programs.

Books and merchandise

Returns and exchanges: Eligible items may be returned within 30 days for a refund or exchange. Items must be unused and returned with their original packaging and accessories.

Damaged or incorrect items: Contact Akoma within seven days of delivery if an item arrived damaged or was not the item ordered. We will review the order and arrange an appropriate replacement or refund.

Starting a return: Use the contact page and include your order number, the item involved and the reason for the request. Return instructions will be provided after the request is reviewed.

Event tickets

Tickets for events hosted by Akoma Coffee & Books may be refunded when the request is received at least seven days before the event. Refunds are not available after that deadline unless Akoma cancels the event.

If Akoma cancels an event, registrants will be offered a refund or, when available, the option to transfer the ticket to a future event.

Contributions

Contributions to Black Dot Cultural Center and Leadership Academy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization doing business as Black Dot Leadership Academy, are generally nonrefundable. If a contribution was made in error, contact us within 48 hours so the circumstances can be reviewed.

Online classes and workshops

Refund requests for an online class or workshop must be received at least 48 hours before the scheduled start. After that time, a transfer to a future session may be considered when space is available.

Processing time

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Processing may take seven to ten business days after the return or cancellation is confirmed.
