The Akoma pour over

Slow down with the bean.

A pour over is prepared one cup at a time. It gives us room to adjust the water, pace and attention for a particular coffee, so you can taste what makes that origin different.

Why pour over

One cup can teach you a lot.

Coffee changes with origin, variety, processing, roasting and brewing. Pour over will not turn the cup into a lecture. It simply gives the coffee a little more space to speak for itself.

Bright

Florals, citrus and tea

If you like a clean, lively cup, we may guide you toward a washed coffee such as Yirgacheffe.

Smooth

Chocolate and caramel

If you want something familiar and rounded, Brazilian Cerrado may feel like home.

Rich

Body and lingering sweetness

If you want a fuller cup, we will help you find a coffee with weight and depth.

Fruit-led

Berries and ripe fruit

If you want something expressive, Ethiopian Bombe or Kintamani may open a new door.

A side-by-side conversation

Taste the difference instead of memorizing it.

Tell us what you usually enjoy. When the moment and lineup allow, we can point you toward coffees that move in different directions and explain what to listen for in the cup. The goal is not to impress anyone. It is to notice what you like.
